Yellow fever vaccination is mandatory for all travellers over 9 months of age from high-risk countries or people who have transited for more than 12 hours at an airport in a high-risk country. Vaccination is recommended for all travellers over 9 months of age.
Hepatitis A is usually transmitted by contaminated food and water, or close physical contact with an infected person, whereas Hepatitis B is transmitted by exposure to infected body fluids and blood.

Egypt is a state in northeast Africa that spans to Asia via the Sinai Peninsula. The country borders Israel and the Gaza Strip to the northeast, Sudan to the south, and Libya to the west. For long stretches, the country’s shores are lapped by the Mediterranean Sea to the north and the Red Sea to the east.
It has a diverse terrain, with three main regions: the desertic areas, the Nile valley and delta, and Sinai. The desert areas are monotonous in nature, with some higher points that end in deep basins occupied by oases. The Nile is a north-flowing river that flows north into a delta that fans out for more than 20,000 km. The southern section of the valley was flooded to create a large dam that feeds Lake Nasser. Finally, Sinai is a highland area bordered by the Red Sea, which is home to Mount St. Catherine (2,600 metres), the highest peak in Egypt.
The climate is typically desertic, with only the northern coasts mildly influenced by the Mediterranean. Drops in temperature are moderate and rainfall is only slightly more frequent. In the rest of the territory, there is very little, if any, rainfall, high temperatures even in winter, and marked daily temperature excursions. From the south, the khamsin, a hot, dry local wind that can cause very large sandstorms, gusts across the south-west.
