The state of Israel is bordered on the north by Lebanon, the east by Syria and Jordan, and the southwest by Egypt; the entire western side faces the Mediterranean Sea.
The territory has a varied morphological formation: the coastal plain stretches along the coast for more than 200 km, with a linear and sandy shoreline, housing the country's main urban centres.
